The Chicago Bears have fired head coach Matt Eberflus following his failure to use a timeout in the Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions and a six-game losing streak. It's the first time in more than 100 years that the team has made a head coach change mid-season.

The mid-season firing is a first for the franchise team and comes just hours after Eberflus said during a Zoom press conference that he was confident he would coach the 49ers game

With coach Matt Eberflus fired on Friday, the Chicago Bears entrust his duties with offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, who has been greatly responsible for turning around the season of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
